It's sad not having Hank here anymore, or Aunt Cheryl. The house seems kind of empty with only four dogs and one mom in it. We had to spend most of the day yesterday trying to remember what our regular life is like. Also we had to rest up from all the excitement of having company in the house, which can make a dog feel tired. Even Mom had to take a nap because she felt tired, too!
Hank was really worried that there would not be room for him in the car and that he would have to stay here in Kansas City with us. I thought this would be a fine plan, but Hank loves his mom and dad, and he wanted to go back home to Texas where the weather is warmer and not so rainy. I can't blame him for feeling that way. And in the end, it turned out that there was enough room for him and his crate that he likes to ride in, so he was happy.
Aunt Cheryl wanted Mom to take a photo of her with Barry, just to show how much Barry likes her now. Mel wanted to be in the picture, too, because he adores Aunt Cheryl, so they all got in the photo.
On Monday, Mom and Aunt Cheryl went to a place called VanLiew's where they sell all kinds of statues and fountains and things to put in your garden. Mom bought a rock that was carved to look like an old man with long hair that is blowing in the wind. This carving is called The North Wind. I guess it is supposed to make you think that there is some old guy with a long beard up in the sky someplace, and he blows air out of his mouth, and that is where the north wind comes from. I don't know if this is true or not, but what I do know is that when the north wind blows in the winter, it is very, very cold. A little dog could freeze to death in the north wind, which is why I am not too fond of it, personally. So I don't know why Mom bought a rock with a carving of the north wind on it. Mom just does weird things sometimes, like I told you before.
And another thing that Mom bought was a ball with blue flowers all over it. This is a ball that is supposed to look pretty in your garden, or at least that is what Mom said. It seems kind of dumb to me. If it was a tennis ball that a dog could play with, it would make more sense to have it. At least that's my opinion, even though no one asked for it!
Okay, well, I don't have too much else to say today except that I will mention that Gabe is feeling much better now that he's taking all those pills that Mom had to buy for him. We have not heard yet what the lab had to say about the blood and poop samples that Gabe sent them, but we expect they will be impressed by the high quality of his blood and poop!
